The iPhone 6S could feature 2GB of RAM and come with the same touchscreen tech found in Apple’s forthcoming Watch. That’s the word from supply-chain sources in Taiwan, who have kicked off rumours about a new iPhone with barely two weeks of the year gone.

Boosting the iPhone 6S’s RAM seems likely. Apple has stuck rigidly with 1GB of RAM in its iPhones, despite rivals bolstering memory in their devices.

Cupertino is said to be considering modules which use minimal power, but offer impressive speed improvements compared to current components.

Force Touch tech, already seen in the Apple Watch’s Taptic Engine, could mean the iPhone 6S is able to register light and hard presses.

When the first iPhone was released, it was heralded as being a move away from haptic feedback screens, which were viewed as clunky at the time.

The sources claim Apple will use the same design as the iPhone 6 for its iPhone 6S, sticking with the same upgrade pattern it has used since the launch of the iPhone 3GS.

Previous rumours suggested the camera will offer ‘DSLR’ quality imaging and a speedier A9 chipset.
